Winter Walk Part II: February 9, 2010

St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Washington Street

Corner of Washington and Webster Streets

Winter walk through Butchertown:
This morning we woke up and saw a fresh blanket of snow just begging to be photographed. Two bundled up residents, one camera, and four freezing feet later, we present snowy images of our neighborhood.

We started out along Story Avenue by Vernon Lanes and admired the stone retaining walls.

We are definitely not the first to take a picture of the pigs in front of the Vernon Lanes. It seems like every day we see someone posing next to, on top of, or in front of the pigs. Lets face it, they're cute.

The Story Avenue Park is next to the Boys and Girls Club in the 1500 block of Story Avenue.

Too cold to swing today...

The Letterle Fire Station with a flickering gas lamp to the right of the door.

Snow covered wall in front of the Butchertown Point development at 1205 E. Washington Street a newly renovated space for artists.

Beautiful house on Washington Street.

Deceptively big building at the corner of Campbell and Washington Streets!

One of few willing to brave the cold this morning...

Four colorful shotguns on Franklin Street.

The corner of Franklin and Cambell Streets hides this beautiful house behind leaves in the summer.

Franklin Street before the floodwall. A wonderful mix of housing styles.
